Carlos Cortez is a business strategist with more than 15 years of general management and consulting experience.

At Clareo, he has helped Fortune 500 and smaller companies achieve transformational growth in industries including consumer goods; health and nutrition; and defense and technology. He also created financial models and business plans for several start-ups in the beverage and fashion industries.


In addition to his consulting experience, Carlos was CEO of a regional pharmacy chain that he recently sold to FEMSA, a multi-national retail and industrial conglomerate. During his tenure, he developed innovative market solutions such as a partnership with Blue Shield of California to extend pharmacy benefits across the US-Mexico border, the first private pharmacy to do so in Latin America.

Carlos holds a BA in business administration from Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a former member of the board of directors at The Resurrection Project, a leading Chicago non-profit, and he currently serves as a mentor and advisor at Endeavor, a global organization focusing on entrepreneurship in developing countries.
